Rock Of Ages Commercial
Description
I was thrilled to be contacted by Steam Studio to lend my expertise to their latest project, the Toronto Broadway production of Rock of Ages.
Described on the musicals official website as one of Broadways longest running hit musicals, this show is set to embark on its international tour after its Toronto run.
The promotional commercial, featuring my video effects, will be broadcasted on Torontos CP24 TV channel, as well as various locations throughout the city, marking a significant milestone in my career. Its an honor to have contributed to such a high-profile production and to see my work on display to audiences far and wide.
The Plan
When I received the assignment instructions, I was tasked with creating 3D text that would animate onto the screen from outside the frame, while incorporating a glitter effect in the transparent background.
Despite being given a tight deadline of just six hours, I was determined to tackle the challenges at hand. Figuring out how to execute 3D text in After Effects was a relatively straight forward process, but the glitter particle effect proved to be more time consuming.
Ultimately, I utilized the particle world effect and a star that I hand drew, and the final result exceeded the clients expectations.
Software
To accomplish this assignment, I employed the powerful capabilities of After Effects, which proved to be the sole software required to create the dynamic and engaging text animations that were central to this project.
