Sports Data Visualization Video
Description
In my Motion Design class, I was assigned a project that involved enhancing sports clips with a futuristic, tech inspired heads-up display HUD effect to display relevant information about the sport.
After careful consideration and planning, I ultimately selected bowling as my chosen sport, as I was excited about the creative possibilities for integrating visually engaging HUD elements. Drawing from my inspiration, I incorporated a variety of dynamic elements into my design, including a speed circle, a time to impact element, a Fibonacci sequence to illustrate the curve, and other compelling features that added depth and interest to the final product.
The Plan
To ensure a streamlined and efficient workflow for this project, I developed a plan that involved creating all the HUD elements first.
By creating these elements as separate compositions in After Effects, I was able to easily integrate them into my footage later on in the editing process. Once the HUD elements were finalized, I focused on the editing phase, which included color correction, tracking, 3D effects, and other adjustments to seamlessly integrate the HUD elements into the footage and bring the project to life.
Software
In addition to video editing and tracking, all the HUD elements were created using After Effects.
